Recipe: Guacamole

What you need:
2 ripe avocados, pitted and mashed (save one pit)
1 clove of garlic, finely chopped
1/2 teaspoon of lime juice (or lemon would work)
1/2 tbsp of non-fat plain greek yogurt (approx.)
1/2 of a small white onion, finely chopped
1 small-medium tomato, diced
green onions on top (optional)
garlic powder *

* For the garlic powder: I have no idea how much I use. I just shake some in, then taste it. You should really just put as much in as you like but do taste tests until you get the right levels.

Also, with the greek yogurt, this is approximately how much I use. However I often just throw some in, then taste it and if it seems like it needs a bit more, I add more. Just start with these levels but you can always add more to suit your tastes!

Directions for this are very simple, just mix everything together. That's it! Save the pit in case you want to save some guac for later. By putting the pit in the leftover guac, it will stop it from turning all brown/black. I don't know why, but for some reason it really grosses me out when that happens and I won't eat it. So, before throwing this in the fridge, throw a pit in it! It really works.

Mmm, so delicious.

Enjoy!

  1. Gotta love the guacamole! I was raised in a family that did not really like it and look where I am. My son, man and I love it!
